OMNI PORTABLE DVS TURNTABLE V.2 | HEADACHE SOUND

I got back into the idea of learning to scratch after years of ignoring the desire. I've recently discovered the world of portablism and thought this was the perfect entry way into finally perusing my turntablism dreams. I initially wanted to keep this new endeavor as cheap as possible, originally planning to pick up a PT01. But after learning about all of the necessary mods to bring it up to speed, I soon found myself researching better options.

That lead me here with purchasing the Omni. If your budget can handle it you might as well go for the best portable turntable setup currently on the market. As someone who had ZERO scratching experience two weeks ago, I'm happy to have gone with something that was ready to go right out of the box. Is it perfect? Not at all. My biggest gripe is that the needle can become unstable and jump pretty easily (something that I've noticed during my sessions). You'll need a good table or solid platform to minimize any issues.

My only other annoyance is with the faders. They're great based on my limited knowledge but can sometimes require recalibrating more often than I'd like. Not a huge deal, just a small gripe. Overall it's been a blast and my scratching abilities have improved a great deal since owning it.

I been having a great time I waited a while but well worth the wait.

Everything works as it should. It is an amazing device. Zero complaints.

I already own a modded PT01, Spin, and STX and as much as I love them all for different reasons this is my favorite.

Everyone knows the pros so here are the cons I’ve found so far.. The line output is weak compared to my other portables especially when trying to daisy chain into an external speaker. I had to get an external with two separate inputs to work around this.

Also the placement of the volume knobs is awkward and impractical.

Compared to my other portables it isn’t very stable. It works great on a solid surface but I can’t cut with it in my lap like my others. Hopefully the mods I ordered will help with that.

Haven’t been able to get the DVS to work on the shitty android phone I have and you have to pay $8 a month to use Djay pro on iOS.

I wish they would’ve used a standard spindle. The one they use is short flat and a different width than standard so if you have your gaps filled in already they’ll end up being too tight.

I didn’t like the rounded fader caps at first but as soon as I got used to them I did a complete 180.

Those are some of the things I would’ve liked to have known before purchasing but compared to everything they got right they aren’t that big of a deal. It’s taken me a few weeks to even notice half of these things and even then idk if I would’ve noticed if I wasn’t comparing it to everything else. I actually just talked one of my friends into buying one last night.
